San Diego pop metallers Pierce the Veil are gearing up for the June 22 release of their latest album, 'Selfish Machines,' and are frontloading their schedule with lots and lots of tour dates, including this summer's Warped Tour. We're tired just looking at their tour itinerary. 'Selfish Machines' follows up the band's debut, 'A Flair for the Dramatic.'The Warped Tour is sort of a double-edged sword for bands. It's the opportunity of a lifetime for relatively neophyte bands, but since there are dozens of acts performing, a band can get lost in the volume. Pierce the Veil have figured out a way to stand out on the packed Warped Tour stages, since they wrote music based on the desire to play it live."Every time we play, we are trying to be the best live band that kids have ever seen," vocalist Vic Fuentes told Noisecreep. "We put a huge amount of work and production into our live set because it is truly our favorite thing in the world to do. We love it so much that we just wrote an entire new album based on playing live shows. Expect lots of singing and energy from both us and the crowd at Warped Tour."Fuentes promised that the band will be playing new songs from 'Selfish Machines,' too. "We would love for kids to come out and not only see us play, but also come to the signings and meet us and maybe even hang out," he said. "We like to build relationships with our fans and give our love and appreciation back to them every chance we get." So be sure and take him up on that offer. In an official statement, Fuentes also revealed that the album title refers to how human nature involves being selfish in some way, shape or form. "In no way is this a negative thing, it's human," he said. "We all have natural tendencies to want, love and take. It's about that 'evil' thing inside of us that is really not evil at all. It's just there and always will be inside all of us."
