For Fahren writing and singing became an effective way of communicating her feelings as a young girl.

Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Fahren spent her youth listening to her moms' record collections of Chaka Khan & Rufus, Earth Wind and Fire, P-Funk and Evelyn Champagne King.
