Upside Down

Upside Down

In the Kitchen? Get out.

Not really, you can stay. But you’ve gotta hear this to believe it. Ah, let’s start from the beginning. As classes at the University of Texas came to an end in the Spring of 2008, Paige Lewis had only one thing on her mind. Well, two, if you count wondering about her final grade in Statistics. But at the forefront of her mind was her intense excitement for what the summer would bring. And the one goal she set out to accomplish this summer was short, simple, and sweet: record an album….before the fall semester…in her kitchen.

So, for the following three months, Paige holed up in her apartment near campus, loaded up on coffee and ramen, and recorded what would become “Upside Down”, her most heartfelt, honest, and passionate effort yet. Her first strictly acoustic album, “Upside Down” gives Paige’s fans what they’ve long been asking for: a CD that captures the sound and purity they experience at her live shows. And, despite having to stop and start recording due to the birds and the occasional bus driving past, Paige was able to beautifully capture 10 songs, in her kitchen, and all before the end of summer.

Writing all her own music and lyrics, and playing both guitar and piano, “Upside Down” is a look straight into the heart of Paige. And if she can sound this good in a kitchen, just wait until she gets out.
