Fox on the Box
Fox on the Box is the fourth album by the Village People. It was released in Europe and Japan by RCA records in 1982 and in the US as In the Street by Casablanca Records a year later, in 1983. The album is most notable for the return of original lead singer Victor Willis. Ray Simpson who had replaced Willis is featured on two songs, "Everybody Loves the Funk" and "Radio Freak". The G.I., Alex Briley also sings lead on one song, "Lonely Lady", with Willis singing lead on all other songs. Another change of members was construction worker David Hodo was replaced by Mark Lee. The two releases are identical except that In the Street contains a bonus track, "America", featuring Miles Jaye (who replaced Ray Simpson). Although Jeff Olson joined Village People in 1980, this was first album that he appeared in cowboy costume. In The Street was reissued on CD in 1999.
