What to Do and How to Do It
Imagiro expresses the collective creativity of singer and bass-player Henrik Chulu, guitarist Tue Damskov and drummer Christian Jespersen. Their engaging and intense sound is playful and musically curious combining elements of a punkish pop aesthetic and indie sensibilities with the nerve of rock and a soul groove. For some years this talented young trio has explored the musical underground of Copenhagen, Denmark. Now they release their first full-length album, produced in cooperation with the duo Janus Dyg and Gustav Niepoort of the band Niepoort and label Free Movement Records. Lyrically, the album revolves around themes of aggrieved love, political cynicism and spiritual angst notwithstanding a dreamy undercurrent of hope and optimism. The recording captures the lively energy that the bands brings with them on stage when they play live. As an album it is concise and solid without limiting the joy of music and playful curiosity that best characterises the music. It is this combination of defined edge and creative depth that makes What to Do and How to Do It a widely accessible, engaging musical experience.
