McNeely's minimalist piano melodies are suitably creepy, eventually expanding to embrace moody electronic textures, shrieking strings, and wordless vocals -- nothing exactly new, of course, but the execution is precise, and a series of thoughtful post-production flourishes further bolsters the music's sense of malice and dread. It will be interesting to see what McNeely might accomplish given a watchable film to score.
