Frontiers
2007 release from the Toronto-based Nuevo Flamenco guitarist, his sixth studio effort (and seventh album overall). Like other guitarists of his style of music, he incorporates Jazz, Latin and World music into his playing. The album sessions were recorded at Coach House Music in Canada and Cook composed all of the pieces (save one, a cover of Bob Dylan's 'It Ain't Me Babe'), inspired by a trip to Spain and the birth of his first son. Backing musicians include Chris Church, Art Avalos, Chendy Leon, Ross MacIntire, Kevin Fox, Gary Craig, Melissa McClelland, Amanda Martinez and Maryem Tollar. Some of his inspiration for Frontiers comes from a temporary move with his wife to Seville, Spain.
