Hopeless Harmonies
Khubu returns to Chocolat Records with his second EP, CR011 Hopeless Harmonies, including a remix by Weston & Engine. The title track "Hopeless Harmonies" indeed shows it's intent of harmonies with the previous having very little meaning. A grooving arp gets the elements on it's way. Haunting synth and strings work surrounds the core accompanied by loose and grooving percussion. An intermitted holding bass structure joins the lineup of sounds as it stretches during the break, dropping into a majestic and emotional groove. Weston & Engine lend their ears to their interpretation of Khubu's "Hopeless Harmonies". With a more direct approach the remix starts off with an automated brass building the percussion as the arp slips through as the spine of the track. An early break leads us into the first drop with a reimagined bassline, a holding driven bass line is the hero of this number keeping the soundscapes from the original.
