In the digital Wild West, it can sometimes be daunting to sift through the mounds of young creatives. Lucky for us, LuQus’ music does all the work for you, clearly standing out in a digital realm yet maintaining all of the elements that make Internet-born music so great. The young producers new EP, released on the Belgium collective, Silenced, exists somewhere in the airy and ambient clouds yet is still grounded with enough low end and broken percussion to make your ceiling fan rattle. Alena Baraz and Magdalena Wolk provide appropriately subtle yet resounding vocals, only amplified by the skilled production, which compliments wholly if not strengthens their talents. The standout track, “Silence” exemplifies perfectly LuQus’s ability for marrying ambiance and bass.
